Efficient Use of Space: Applicant + 3 Adult Children
Applicant was moving with her adult children due to the families support needs. The family needed a 4-bed property and as this was sensitive case, they all needed to stay together as a family.
A property was identified in their area of choice however it was above LHA by £1200. On reviewing the household income and benefits and in agreement with the landlord, household and local authority, a decision was made to provide 4 individual tenancies in order for the property to be affordable.
This meant that each member of the household was entitled to a 1 bed LHA rate, totalling the rent required by the landlord.
